CTC earns 21 nominations for the coverted NAPTA Awards
The 2009 NAPTA nominations were announced on Dec 13th with Centrestage collecting nominations for Hello Dolly, Les Miserables and the Old Tyme Music Hall.
Les Miserables collected an incredible 15 nominations including best lighting, props, make-up & hair, special effects, set design, vocal work, supporting ensemble, direction and best musical. Individual nominations were received by John Hellyer, Ian Carr, Devin Ashton, Danielle White & Melissa Nordhaus.
Congratulations also go to Catherine Carr & Lynn Webster for Hello Dolly and the Old Tyme Music hall Company for Best Choreography and costumes by Pat Shanks.
Following a large turn out for auditions the cast and crew are now well into rehearsals for the first production of 2010.
More than 60 children turned up for the recent Railway Children auditions giving Director, Bruce Murray and Musical Director, Sarah Hayes, a good selection of talented to chose from.. The cast now comprises 25 adults and a children’s ensemble of 20.
The Railway Children is a beautiful new musical based on E.dith Nesbit’s classic family novel set in Kent countryside one summer in 1905. The cast includes Nikki Kent, Ian Carr, Heather Wilcox, Chris Wyatt and Bryce Hambling.
With a beautiful score and delightful story the show will be a great hit with everybody. Bookings open on Iticket in January.
Our Junior show season is back by popular demand. Pat Shanks has written another fabulous show “The White Rabbit” Auditions for Centrestage Theatre Co’s student production ‘The White Rabbit’ Wed 10 and Mon 15 Feb between 4 and 6 pm at Centrestage Theatre, Orewa. Auditions for the mid year production of Frank Wildhorn’s incredible musical adventure, The Scarlet Pimpernel, will be held on February 12 & 13. The Director is Bruce Murray and Musical Director Campbell Downie. Information packs will be available in late January and can be collected from the Box Office or online at this site.
